KUALA LUMPUR, April 28 (Bernama) -- The MADANI Government’s priority is to ensure that every intervention implemented not only stabilises prices, but also guarantees the continuity of basic supplies and protects the people from sudden cost surges following the conflict in West Asia.

Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan said the approach taken by the government in facing the global supply crisis remains based on careful data, supported by strategic engagement with industry players and the implementation of swift and effective actions on the ground.

“Among the main focuses are efforts to stabilise the supply of energy and critical inputs, control cost of living pressures, ensure that development continues without disruption and protect jobs and household incomes.

“At the same time, the government continues to strengthen economic resilience for the long term,” he posted on Facebook today.

He said that although Malaysia has a strong economic foundation to face global uncertainties, it needs to be translated into organised, bold and decisive actions to ensure the people’s well-being remains safeguarded.

Earlier, Ramanan, who attended the National Economic Action Council (NEAC) meeting chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, said that discussions focused on comprehensive efforts to address global supply chain pressures, rising raw material costs and their impact on the people’s cost of living following the conflict in West Asia.
