WASHINGTON, April 29 (Bernama-Yonhap) -- US President Donald Trump on Wednesday warned Iran to "get smart soon", as peace talks remained at an impasse amid growing concerns over the economic fallout of the US-Israeli war against the Islamic Republic, Yonhap News Agency reported.
Trump made the remarks in a social media post, ratcheting up pressure on Tehran to make a deal with the United States to end hostilities.
"Iran can't get their act together. They don't know how to sign a nonnuclear deal," Trump wrote on Truth Social. "They better get smart soon!"
He posted the warning alongside an image of himself holding a rifle, with the message: "No more Mr Nice Guy."
Negotiations between Washington and Tehran have been stalled mainly due to differences over the crucial Strait of Hormuz and Iran's nuclear programme.
The two sides held their first and only round of direct negotiations in Islamabad on April 11 and 12, but failed to reach an agreement to end the war.
