Super League: Penang FC Pledge To Bounce Back, Optimistic Of Collecting Three Points

11/01/2025 12:40 PM

GEORGE TOWN, Jan 11 (Bernama) -- Penang FC are promising a comeback ahead of the crucial Super League match against Perak FC at City Stadium, tomorrow.

After a 20-day break without a match, Penang FC head coach Wan Rohaimi Wan Ismail is confident that they have formed a solid team and they are now truly ready to give their best performance, especially before their own fans.

"We have gone through six matches in November and December and rested for about 20 days before the match this Sunday.

"The preparations so far have been positive. The period (20 days) is enough to improve what was lacking before and I am optimistic that we will get full three points later," he said.

He was met by reporters after playing in the friendly football match between Media Mutiara x KOPA against Penang FC All Star in conjunction with the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Penang Media Mutiara Club at the KOPA Arena of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Gelugor near here, last night.

Also present were KOPA Arena manager, Nik Iqbal Nik Ahmad and Mutiara Media Club president Mohd Iskandar Othman.

Commenting further, Wan Rohaimi was also relieved that all players were free from injuries or suspensions and described the starting eleven that will be fielded later as the best.

The 48-year-old manager said the Panthers were also strengthened with imported players to help Penang FC challenge the opposing team.

The Panthers are 11th in the league, three places below Perak FC who are in 8th position, with 14 points from 16 matches.

Commenting on the friendly match with Mutiara Media, Wan Rohaimi described it as the best space to strengthen relations between Penang FC and the media in addition to being involved in healthy recreational activities.

Nik Iqbal said his party would organise more such matches in the future as it would build closer relationships, especially with media practitioners.
