NEW YORK, Aug 7 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- On Tuesday, US markets closed higher, reported Xinhua.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 294.39 points, or 0.76 per cent, to 38,997.66. The S&P 500 added 53.70 points, or 1.04 per cent, to 5,240.03. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased by 166.77 points, or 1.03 per cent, to 16,366.85.
All of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in green, with real estate and financials leading the gainers by adding 2.30 per cent and 1.46 per cent, respectively. Energy posted the weakest growth, up by 0.40 per cent.
