JAKARTA, Oct 17 (Bernama) -- President-elect Prabowo Subianto held a retreat session with several prospective ministers, deputy ministers, and agency heads equivalent to ministers in West Java.
The two-day closed programme, held at his residence in Hambalang, Bogor, since Wednesday, also included the elected vice president Gibran Rakabuming Raka, the eldest son of President Joko Widodo.
The retreat session took place one day after they were summoned individually to Prabowo's residence in Kertanegara, South Jakarta, on Monday and Tuesday.
Among the critical issues discussed during the meeting in Bogor were geopolitics, economic growth, political communication, and anti-corruption.
In a post on his official X account on Thursday, the president-elect expressed his appreciation to all those involved for their spirit of unity, demonstrating their commitment to collaborative governance.
"Thank you for the spirit of unity demonstrated for the nation!" wrote Prabowo, who is set to be sworn in as Indonesia's eighth president at the Parliament Complex in Central Jakarta this Sunday.
A participant of the retreat, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir, posted on Instagram: “Collaboration is key to achieving our shared goals for a prosperous Indonesia,” along with a message wishing Prabowo a happy 73rd birthday.
Meanwhile, Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, also shared on Instagram: “The spirit of collaboration, mutual assistance, solidarity, and optimism is vital to building a just and prosperous Indonesia.”
Echoing these sentiments, Investment Minister Rosan Roeslani wrote on his Instagram page: “We discussed a grand vision for Indonesia over the next five years to bring about significant change for the nation. The spirit of collaboration and strong commitment to the people is the foundation for leading Indonesia toward a better future.”
This summoning and retreat follow several meetings between Prabowo and Joko Widodo this month, including a dinner lasting over two hours in Central Jakarta on October 8 and a visit to the president's residence in Solo, Central Java, on October 13.
