KYIV, April 7 (Bernama-dpa) -- Ukraine has proposed a mutual ceasefire on strikes against energy targets to Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday, reported German Press Agency (dpa).
"If Russia is ready to stop strikes on our energy infrastructure, we will be ready to respond in kind," Zelensky said in his nightly address.
The proposal was conveyed to Russia via the United States (US), Zelensky added.
Ukraine has been fighting a full-scale Russian invasion for more than four years.
Targeted Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure have left millions affected by prolonged power and heating outages.
In turn, by targeting Russia's oil industry, Ukraine hopes to weaken Moscow's defence industry, which is largely financed by energy revenues.
