ALOR SETAR, Nov 7 (Bernama) -- Floods have hit Kedah again, with one temporary relief centre opened in the Kuala Muda district following continual rain since midnight last night.

The Kedah State Disaster Management Committee said that so far, 10 victims from six families have been placed at the Kampung Bukit Belah Community Hall, which was opened at noon today.

“All the victims are from Mukim Sungai Petani, involving residents of Kampung Bukit Belah,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, according to the official Public Infobanjir website, two rivers in Kedah have exceeded the danger level — Sungai Jarak in Kulim at 5.33 metres and Sungai Titi Kerbau in Pendang at 4.27 metres — while Sungai Pedu in Padang Terap has surpassed the alert level at 18.71 metres.
