Tengku Amir Shah, Consort Grace Gathering With The People In Shah Alam

SHAH ALAM, Nov 7 (Bernama) -- The Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, and his consort, Datin Paduka Seri Afzaa Fadini Abdul Aziz, graced the ‘Santunan Kasih Pengantin Diraja Bersama Rakyat’ ceremony at Dataran Kemerdekaan Shah Alam tonight.

Their arrival at 9 pm was greeted by Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari and Selangor State Secretary Datuk Dr Ahmad Fadzli Ahmad Tajuddin.

Earlier, the royal couple, elegantly dressed — Tengku Amir Shah in a short-sleeved batik shirt, and Afzaa Fadini in a light purple modern baju kurung with floral motifs — were accompanied by a royal kompang troupe and a Silat Cekak Hanafi performance upon arrival.

The ceremony began with a prayer recitation by Selangor Deputy Mufti Datuk Dr Miszairi Sitiris.

The event was further enlivened by cultural performances from the Mah Meri Orang Asli community and the Zapin wedding dance by children under the Permata Seni programme.

An estimated crowd of more than 12,000 people attended to celebrate and witness the royal newlyweds mingling with the people.

Guests were also treated, for the first time, to a video screening of the royal wedding ceremony, along with congratulatory messages from the rakyat to the couple.

The celebration continued with the royal couple cutting a wedding cake and pulut kuning.

The Raja Muda of Selangor and his consort then viewed performances by artistes together with the public, followed by a laser aurora show and fireworks display, before departing.

Tengku Amir Shah and Afzaa Fadini were officially married in the Royal Solemnisation Ceremony at Masjid Istana Diraja in Istana Alam Shah, Klang, on Oct 2.

The royal couple were wed by the Selangor Mufti, witnessed by Tengku Panglima Raja Selangor Tengku Ahmad Shah and Tengku Indera Pahlawan Diraja Tengku Datuk Setia Putra, in a private ceremony.

The Royal Bersanding Ceremony was later held with full tradition and decorum at the Balairung Seri, Istana Alam Shah, on Oct 22.
