Moderate Earthquake Hits North Halmahera, Indonesia

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 20 (Bernama) -- A moderate earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter Scale struck North Halmahera, Indonesia, at 12.19 pm today.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department, in a statement said that the quake occurred at a depth of 94 kilometres, about 105 km north of Ternate, Indonesia.

It poses no tsunami threat to Malaysia.
