MUAR, Nov 29 (Bernama) -- Two local fishermen experienced anxious moments when their boat capsized and sank in the waters of Haji Bakri here today.
Johor Acting Maritime Affairs Officer, Maritime Captain Kama Azri Kamil, said the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) was alerted to the incident at 11.13 am.
He said the boat the two fishermen, Mohamed Razi Abdul Rahman, 31 and Muhammad Hafiz Ahmad Daud, 30, were on suffered a leak before capsizing while out fishing.

“Following that, a boat from the Batu Pahat Maritime Zone, Petri 51, was mobilised to the location, but at about noon, we were informed that the two victims had been rescued by a tugboat, Frase Dolphin, which happened to be nearby,” he said in a statement today.
Kama Azri, who is also the SAR Commander, said the victims were then transferred from the tugboat to Petir 51 and sent to Bentayan Jetty for further action.
He commended the maritime community for their swift action as well as the immediate assistance of the tugboat that rescued the victims.
