KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 1 (Bernama) -- The DiA Misha Omar concert at Mega Star Arena last Saturday became a long-awaited moment of healing for fans who had been yearning for the powerful-voiced singer’s return to a large-scale performance after more than three years.

Attended by over 5,000 spectators who filled every corner of the arena, the Machang, Kelantan-born singer captivated the audience with a lineup of 21 hit songs, including several medleys that seemed to unravel different chapters of love in various shades.

From unfulfilled romances to hearts wounded unwillingly, and lingering feelings of longing — all these emotions merged into melodies sung together with fans, immersing the hall in deep appreciation.

Elegant in an all-black ensemble, the 43-year-old opened the show with a medley of Hati Keliru, Terpana and Bunga-Bunga Cinta, showcasing the vocal maturity of the three-time Anugerah Juara Lagu Best Vocal winner, often dubbed a “storyteller” through her singing.

The night’s stage bore witness to the dedication of the singer, whose real name is Samihah @ Aisah Omar, who has been diligently retraining her vocals with Datuk Syafinaz Selamat since 2018 — resulting in strong and consistent vocal control throughout the concert.

“If singing allows me to express my heart, I would do it for the rest of my life,” said Misha, illustrating how meaningful each performance is to her, especially with her signature deep emotional delivery.

Taking the opportunity to get closer to fans, Misha appeared among the audience while performing Angin Syurga and Semoga Abadi, sparking cheers and excitement as fans were able to see her up close.

For Misha, fans are the most precious gift that has kept her going in the industry for two decades.

The concert also served as a platform for her to pay tribute to legendary musician, the late Datuk Adnan Abu Hassan, through the Adnan Tribute Medley.

“When I entered Bintang RTM 2001, I lost. But he was the one who believed in my talent. He said my voice was ‘ordinary’, but there was a sadness in it that could be conveyed. Those words stayed with me until today,” she recalled.

Through the medley of classics by the revered composer — Jerat Percintaan (Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza), Gubahan Rindu Puisi Syahdu (Fauziah Latiff) and Renungan Terakhir (Datuk Nora Ariffin) — Misha added her own touch, breathing new magic into the songs.

As a surprise, Misha also brought out her nine-year-old son, Muhammad Idris Ezzwa, as her duet partner for the English song Destiny.

“I’m back! Do you still remember me? Do you miss me?” said Idris, charming the audience with his chatter and antics during his earlier solo segment.

Although Misha’s vocals and emotional delivery were captivating throughout the night, some segments felt slightly flat due to the absence of surprise elements, additional visuals or guest duets that some audience members had anticipated.

Still, perhaps it is that very simplicity that defines Misha Omar — like Bunga-Bunga Cinta, which needs no embellishment to continue blooming and leaving a lasting impression on every heart in the audience.
