ELON MUSK MOVES TWO COMPANY HEADQUARTERS AFTER NEW GENDER IDENTITY LAW

SAN JOSE (California), July 17 (Bernama-dpa) -- Tech billionaire Elon Musk announced on Tuesday that he will move the headquarters of two of his companies out of California to Texas, according to the German news agency (dpa).

Musk cited a new law in California, which bans schools from requiring staff to disclose information about a child's gender identity, as the reason for SpaceX’s relocation.

"This is the final straw," he wrote on his social media platform X.

"Because of this law and the many others that preceded it, attacking both families and companies, SpaceX will now move its HQ from Hawthorne, California, to Starbase, Texas," he wrote.

"I did make it clear to Governor [Gavin] Newsom about a year ago that laws of this nature would force families and companies to leave California to protect their children."

He added that X's headquarters would move from San Francisco to Austin.

"Have had enough of dodging gangs of violent drug addicts just to get in and out of the building," he stated.
