KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 17 (Bernama) -- Bernama Digital Media Unit senior journalist Syed Iylia Hariz Al-Qadri Syed Izman is among nine media practitioners honoured with the Pena Emas awards at the Malaysian Industrial Safety and Health Association (MiSHA) 2024 Awards ceremony held here today.
The recognition was awarded in appreciation of these media practitioners' invaluable contributions in disseminating crucial information to elevate occupational safety and health standards across the industry.
Also receiving the award were RTM Sports Channel Operations chief Raja Ahmad Yusof Raja Amzah; Berita Harian journalist Muhammad Yusri Muzamir; Berita Majoriti editor Mohd Hasriq Amiruddin; TV3 Sports journalist Hazreen Mubarak; Akbar Sahari (Astro Arena); Noor Fazrina Noor Kamal (Edisi 9), Mohd Shariza Abdullah (Utusan) and Abdul Halim Hadi (Malaysia Tribune).
The MiSHA National Excellence Awards on OSHPoP 2024 were presented by Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad. Award recipients took home certificates of appreciation, plaques and trophies.
A total of 150 awards were presented at this year's MiSHA Awards Ceremony, which was organised to reward individuals and organisations from various sectors that have excelled in implementing threat management strategies and practices based on an efficient Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Principle of Prevention (PoP) framework.
Dzulkefly also presented the 2024 Minister's Special Award for Excellence in Occupational Health and Safety to Gamuda Berhad, while the prestigious MiSHA Platinum Award on OSH PoP 2024 was awarded to Petronas.
Earlier, in his speech, Dzulkefly said the awards, themed 'Reinventing Health at Work', aimed to recognise excellence in occupational safety and health.
