NEW YORK, July 17 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- The US dollar increased in late trading on Tuesday, reported Xinhua.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, went up 0.08 per cent to 104.270 at 3:00 pm (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro declined to US$1.0896 from US$1.0901 in the previous session, and the British pound was down to US$1.2969 from US$1.2972 in the previous session.
The US dollar bought 158.35 Japanese yen, higher than 157.86 Japanese yen of the previous session.
The US dollar lost to 0.8943 Swiss francs from 0.8956 Swiss francs, and it increased to 1.3679 Canadian dollars from 1.3671 Canadian dollars.
The US dollar added to 10.6027 Swedish kronor from 10.5987 Swedish kronor.
