NEW YORK, Aug 6 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- The US dollar weakened in late trading on Monday, reported Xinhua.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, lost 0.5 per cent to 102.689 at 3:00 pm (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro was up to US$1.0951 from US$1.0913 in the previous session, and the British pound fell to US$1.2757 from US$1.2806 in the previous session.
The US dollar bought 143.51 Japanese yen, lower than 146.49 Japanese yen of the previous session. The US dollar declined to 0.8507 Swiss francs from 0.8590 Swiss francs, and it dropped to 1.3832 Canadian dollars from 1.3869 Canadian dollars. The US dollar lost to 10.5758 Swedish kronor from 10.5838 Swedish kronor.
