NEW YORK, Aug 8 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- The US dollar increased in late trading on Wednesday, reported Xinhua.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, went up 0.22 per cent to 103.197 at 3:00 pm (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro lost to US$1.0922 from US$1.0929 in the previous session, and the British pound fell to US$1.2685 from US$1.2698 in the previous session.
The US dollar bought 146.88 Japanese yen, higher than 145.02 Japanese yen of the previous session. The US dollar was up to 0.8618 Swiss francs from 0.8530 Swiss francs, and it decreased to 1.3746 Canadian dollars from 1.3769 Canadian dollars. The US dollar dropped to 10.4815 Swedish kronor from 10.5254 Swedish kronor.
