Queen Graces Aidilfitri Reception For Women’s Associations

KUALA LUMPUR, April 2 (Bernama) -- Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, today graced a Hari Raya Aidilfitri reception for female officers of various associations at Istana Negara here.

The event, held at Dewan Santapan Utama, was also attended by the Prime Minister’s wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

The gathering brought together approximately 450 guests, including representatives from various organisations, in a vibrant celebration highlighting the significant role of women in nation-building.

Participating associations included the National Association of Wives of Civil Servants and Women Civil Servants (Puspanita), the Armed Forces Family Welfare Body (Bakat), the Police Family Association (Perkep), the National Association of Wives of Fire Personnel and Women Fire Personnel (Perisma) and the Association of Wives, Children and Women Members of the Prisons Department (Persiap).

The ceremony commenced with Her Majesty spending about 15 minutes visiting exhibition booths set up by the various associations.

The reception was further enlivened by performances from Kombo Badan Kesenian Tentera Darat, Yayasan Warisan Johor and the National Department for Culture and Arts Cultural Group.

The event also featured renowned local artistes Anuar Zain and Dayang Nurfaizah.

Guests were served a variety of traditional delicacies, including nasi briyani, roast lamb, Johor laksa, lemang, ketupat and mee rebus, along with an assortment of traditional cakes and beverages.

The audience was also entertained by Zapin dance performances, including Zapin Lambak and Zapin Bunga Hutan, which showcased the beauty of Johor’s Malay cultural heritage.
